‘Who’s Teaching Our Children?’

A terrorist-supporting immigrant who teaches children in Mississauga is now back in school:

“A Mississauga elementary teacher, who came under fire for remarks made at a Palestinian rally last summer, has returned to the classroom. A spokesperson for the ‘Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School’ said Nadia Shoufani returned to work at St. Catherine of Siena Separate School on Nov. 21.”

A Toronto-area teacher who has been suspended for publicly expressing support for Arab terrorists had worked for the notorious anti-Western and anti-Israel ‘UNRWA’ {for 9 years!} before somehow ending up in Canada, poisoning the minds of Canadian children. Her story should make Canadians ask serious questions of both immigration officials and the school board that hired her:

A society that refuses to meaningfully confront the radicalization that creates terror will only embolden those who foster and promote it.

“Only 24 hours after ‘Canada Day’, a teacher from the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board headlined ‘al-Quds Day’ in Toronto and declared her support for the likes of ‘Hezbollah’ and the ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’ — both listed terror organizations in Canada. Sadly, praising those who murder Israelis is par for the course at these annual hate rallies.

“‘Al-Quds Day’ was first created in 1979, in the immediate aftermath of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, to call for the annihilation of the Jewish State. Supporters of the radical Ayatollah Khomeini defend a human rights-abusing regime that has become the world’s premier state sponsor of terror.

“The aforementioned public speech given by Nadia Shoufani — who teaches at ‘St. Catherine of Siena Separate School’ — is especially revealing because it epitomizes the radical ideology that spawns future terrorists. People are not born hateful and terrorism does not happen in a vacuum.

“The perpetrators of terror attacks, having been fed a steady diet of crazed rhetoric, are often very quickly radicalized to commit unspeakable acts of violence. This is why the fact that Shoufani is an elementary school teacher should send chills down our collective spines.

“As an educator, Shoufani holds the important role of shaping the young minds of future leaders of our country. If she believes that terrorists and murderers are “heroes” worthy of praise, one cannot help but wonder what her students might think when they see the video on ‘YouTube’. We must be vigilant, lest our impressionable youth be exposed to this type of invective, or worse, indoctrinated by it.

“As a society, we must open our eyes and stand up to the radicalization that breeds the terror that manifests itself in places like San Bernardino, Orlando, Kiryat Arba or Nice… There can be no room in Canada for promoting division and hate.”

MICHAEL MOSTYN, Toronto Sun, AUGUST 02, 2016

“The ‘Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association’ (OECTA), which represents Shoufani, said the teacher wasn’t suspended for her conduct, but instead for ‘appearing to not comply’ {‘NOT complying’} with the investigation…

“In her remarks, which were captured on video {https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9OnPgt1bMc }, Shoufani called Ghassan Kanafani, a Palestinian writer killed in 1972, a “martyr”, and criticized the detention of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a Lebanese militant imprisoned in France for killing two U.S. and Israeli officials.

Georges Ibrahim Abdallah

“Both men are linked to the ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’, a group ‘Public Safety Canada’ lists as a terrorist entity.

“We have the right to fight back. We have the right to resist,”

Shoufani told the crowd at one point during her speech…

“Ann Hawkins, OECTA’s president, said her organization will support Shoufani throughout the investigation…”

CBC News, Aug. 10, 2016

“Toronto: The ‘Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board’ announced on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, that it has suspended Nadia Shoufani, an elementary teacher based at St. Catherine of Sienna. The Board noted that

“concerns raised by the community and public at large regarding Nadia’s professional conduct, have been referred to the ‘Ontario College of Teachers’ for investigation and review.”

“On July 2, 2016, Shoufani was a speaker at the ‘Al-Quds Day’ protest held at Queens Park in Toronto. Al-Quds Day was established by Iran’s Islamic regime as a means of promoting the destruction of Israel through annual events held in cities worldwide. In her speech, Shoufani called on attendees to

“support the resistance in any form”

and to

“liberate Palestine from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea.”

“In her speech at the Al-Quds Day rally, Shoufani expressed her support of the Palestinian struggle…to liberate “all Palestine”, meaning the destruction of the State of Israel.

“The following are excerpts from Shoufani’s speech, accompanied with ‘CIJnews’ comments:

Nadia Shoufani:

“Yesterday [July 1, 2016], the Israeli occupation forces shot dead, executed a 27-year-old woman, a pregnant woman, killing her. That means killing two, two people, the woman and her baby. Her cousin Mohammad, 17 years old, was executed the day before.”

CIJnews: “The Palestinian pregnant woman, Sarah Tarairah, was shot dead while committing a stabbing attack in an attempt to kill an Israeli policeman. “Her cousin Mohammad” is Mohammad Tarairah, who was killed by Israeli forces after her broke into a house and stabbed a 13-year-old American-Israeli girl to death while she was sleeping.”

Nadia Shoufani:

“I urge you not to be silent. I urge you to speak up, to resist this occupation and support the steadfastness of Palestinians. Support the resistance in any form that is possible. I urge you to support the BDS, the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions against Israel…”

CIJnews: “From September 13, 2015 ‘till July 3, 2016, the Palestinian al-Quds Intifada (“popular” struggle, which includes terrorist attacks), also known as the ‘Knife Intifada’, claimed the life of 40 Israelis, and 511 were injured in 155 stabbing attacks (including 76 attempted attacks), 96 shootings, 45 vehicular (ramming) attacks, one vehicle (bus) bombing and thousands of incidents of firebombings and stone/rock throwing.”

Nadia Shoufani:

“Palestine will be liberated with your efforts. Glory to the martyrs. Victory, freedom to the prisoners and liberation for the Palestinians, all Palestinians From the river [Jordan River] to the sea [Mediterranean Sea] Palestine will be free.”

CIJnews: “Who are the “Palestinian prisoners”? Most of the Palestinian prisoners were convicted of involvement in terrorist activities. This group includes among others suicide bombers captured alive, dispatchers of suicide bombers, mass murderers, leaders of terrorist organizations, terrorists who killed civilians and those who attempted or planned to kill civilians…”

“Nadia Shoufani‘s postings on ‘Facebook’ {since removed} (mostly in Arabic):

February 12, 2016 – “Please join us in activities supporting the [Palestinian] intifada… Humiliate them. They all worth [not more than] the shoe of every fighter and every martyr.”

December 22, 2015 – The “martyrdom” of Samir Kuntar is a “testament for heroism”, wrote Shoufani. She added: “Blessed be Samir for his martyrdom with dignity and pride.”

December 21, 2015 – “Samir Kuntar is one of the heroes of my land. He sacrificed himself for the struggle/ resistance and Palestine… Samir, O Fierce fighter… You have the glory and the pride of the martyrdom!”

CIJnews: “Who was Samir Kuntar? At the age of 16, Samir Kuntar, then a member of the {terrorist} ‘Palestine Liberation Front’, with three other fellow terrorists infiltrated into Israel, participated in the killing of an Israeli policeman, and attempted the kidnapping of an Israeli family in Nahariya that resulted in the deaths of four Israelis. During this attack, Kuntar murdered an Israeli civilian and smashed the head of his 4-year-old daughter on beach rocks and crushed her skull with the butt of his rifle.

“After being released in 2008 from the Israeli jail as part of the Israel–‘Hezbollah’ prisoner swap, Kuntar joined the ranks the Lebanese terrorist Shiite ‘Hezbollah’ organization and worked at building up Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure against Israel in the Golan Heights. On December 19, 2015, Kuntar was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the outskirts of Damascus, Syria.”

November 8, 2015 – “I support the struggle/ resistance in all forms

October 28, 2015 – “Heroic intifada”

July 31, 2015 – “Your arms represent me. They and the stones of Palestine are holy!

July 3, 2015 – (originally in English) “This is Jerusalem! These are the Zionists … these are the occupiers … these are the criminals who stole our land and keep on attacking and assaulting our people, owners of this land, on a daily basis! This old man is the owner of this land … is my father … is my brother … is my comrade … is my rock and my pride … is the symbol of resistance!”

May 18, 2015 – “I will never recognize but the Palestine with all its grains of soil from the river [of Jordan] to the sea [Mediterranean Sea]!

April 18, 2015 – (originally in English) “Toronto Rally yesterday in support of Palestinian Political Prisoners. Despite the Zionists counter presence on the other side of the street and the police racism {?}, our flags were up high and our voices were heard loud and clear demanding freedom of all Palestinian prisoners.”

September 23, 2014 – “Marwan and Omar, the martyrs of the dawn, the heroes, the fighters in Hebron.”

CIJnews: “Marwan Kawasmeh and Amar Abu-Aisah were operatives of the terrorist group ‘Hamas’ who kidnapped at the bus/hitchhiking stop three Israeli teens (Naftali Frenkel, 16, Gilad Shaer, 16, and Eyal Yifrah,19) and murdered them.”

May 13, 2014 – “O my people, you have a rifle… O my people, You have Allah and a rifle, or, sorry, perhaps more correctly to say that you have only a rifle, only a rifle, only a rifle. O my people fight/ resist. Whatever was taken by force will never be restored but by force!

February 28, 2014 – “New groom is get married to Palestine!… Blessed be you, Mu’taz [Washaha] You have written the finest verses of love, heroism and loyalty to Palestine… Blessed are Abu Ali [Mustafa, leader of Palestinian terrorist group the PFLP], al-Hakeem [nickname of George Habash, founder and leader of PFLP], Ghassan [Kanafani, senior operative of PFLP], Wadie [Haddad, leader of the ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’s armed wing], and Abu Ghassan [nickname of Ahmad Sa’adat, the current leader of PFLP], blessed be us and Palestine because of you and your rifle!”

From 2014:
‘New Scandal Envelops UNRWA as Employees Praise Jerusalem Synagogue Atrocity’

“UNRWA is a body devoted solely to Palestinian refugees from the 1948 war as well as their descendants who, unlike the children of refugees in other conflict situations, legally inherit refugee status. Among its responsibilities is the education of Palestinian children, often taught by local teachers who have no incentive to keep their political beliefs – however extreme – outside of the classroom.”

“Having been to UNRWA’s Palestinian Refugee Camp in Deheishe, I can attest to the fact there is a large mural of a female suicide bomber [a graduate of the school] on an UNRWA school right near the entrance to the camp. In allowing this mural to remain, the UNRWA school glorifies terror, and perpetuates the continuation of the conflict. The suicide bomber becomes the person children admire and seek to aspire to become. Why the United States and other Western countries fund a UN school without requiring it to remove a huge mural of a terrorist on the school defies reason, does it not?”

“Even though there are more Arab Muslims living in the West Bank than in Gaza, there are more “official” refugees in Gaza, which means that more UNRWA funding and efforts are directed there. The UNRWA only runs 96 schools in the West Bank, but it runs 245 schools in Gaza. It employs less than 3,000 education staffers in the West Bank, but over 10,000 in Gaza.

“Why does ‘Hamas’, which is obsessed with brainwashing the next generation into martyrdom, allow a foreign organization to run an educational system for 232,000 pupils?

“It’s because in Gaza, ‘Hamas’ and the UNRWA are the same thing.

“The UNRWA’s Gaza staff has its own union. In the 2012 election, a pro-’Hamas’ bloc won the support of most of the union, with 25 out of 27 seats on the union board.

“When there was talk of reforming the UNRWA by removing Hamas members from its ranks, the editor of a Hamas paper wrote that,

“Laying off the agency employees because of their political affiliation means laying off all the employees of the aid agency, because…they are all members of the ‘resistance,’ in its various forms.”

“The official word from Hamas was that it and the UNRWA are the same thing…

If an organization consists largely of Hamas members who use it to pursue Hamas goals, then the organization is Hamas.”

“The United Nations is facing tough criticism and allegations of major misconduct after caches of rockets were found hidden at a UN-run school in Gaza before reportedly being handed to terrorists…

“The first batch of deadly weapons were uncovered at the UNRWA-run Gaza “school” last week. Another, separate cache of rockets was found at a UN school on Tuesday of this week, too. In a statement, the UN agency claimed they were found “in the course of the regular inspection of its premises”.

Instead of handing the rockets over to Israeli authorities, however, the outfit admittedly handed them to Hamas for “disposal”, according to news reports. Critics promptly cried foul, noting that Hamas would almost certainly launch the weapons at Israel…

“Israeli authorities were outraged at the news.

“UNRWA schools were established to educate children in Gaza, but instead they are providing a hiding place for rockets meant to kill children in Israel,”

fumed Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, saying Israel was “troubled” by the developments. He also called the UNRWA’s decision to hand the rockets to Hamas “unacceptable”…”

From 2004:
“Last week, an Israeli television station aired footage of armed Arab terrorists in southern Gaza using an ambulance owned and operated by the ‘United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees’. Palestinian gunmen used the UNRWA emergency vehicle as getaway transportation after murdering six Israeli soldiers in Gaza City on May 11

“… senior UNRWA employee Nahed Rashid Ahmed Attalah confessed to using his official U.N. vehicle to bypass security and smuggle arms, explosives and terrorists to and from attacks. He was in charge of distributing food supplies to Palestinian refugees. Nidal ‘Abd al-Fataah ‘Abdallah Nizal, a Hamas activist, worked as an UNRWA ambulance driver and admitted he had used an emergency vehicle to transport munitions to terrorists

“The UNRWA has long been suspected of providing aid and comfort to terrorists. Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., chairman of the ‘Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare’, recently documented how

“buildings and warehouses under UNRWA supervision are allegedly being used as storage areas for Palestinian ammunition and counterfeit currency factories.”

“Cantor’s 2002 report also noted that UNRWA hosts summer camps in martyrdom for young terrorists-in-training. Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., has also lobbied for increased scrutiny of UNRWA funding, which has been used to publish anti-Semitic textbooks and posters in schools that

“glorify suicide bombers and the slaughter of innocents”…

“…another UNRWA employee praised homicide bombers, proclaiming:

“The road to Palestine passes through the blood of the fallen, and these fallen have written history with parts of their flesh and their bodies.”
